Gabriel Mendoza Weiss is a Mexican American photographer and director. He grew up in an Air Force family. Every summer his family would pack up the minivan and head to a new military base. During those cross-country trips to a fresh town, he'd peer out the back window and let the environment wash over him. Unbeknownst to him at the time, that would end up being a poignant awakening to shaping his view of the world.
A moving image through a square frame. Seeing the world go by through the framing of the backseat window of his mother's Dodge Caravan would eventually become his compass as a visual artist.
His truest sensibilities come to life when creating photo scenarios with an emphasis on unique set design and eye-catching perspectives. With his tools of mastery of color theory, keen sense of fashion, and endless desire to shed light on the strange--he's fully equipped to build you a world that feels one-of-a-kind yet warmly inviting like a good hug from a long-time friend.
